Authenticated code execution via user-file extension override
Published Dec 10, 2025 · Updated Dec 10, 2025
Code execution in CMSimple 5.15 allows remote authenticated users to upload and run arbitrary PHP files through the web interface. The Settings > CMS form accepts php as an Extensions_userfiles suffix, and the Media uploader then stores the file beneath userfiles/media. An authenticated session with CMS settings access is required; a stored shell runs with the web server's PHP privileges and permits server-side code execution.
