Root escalation via undisclosed backend script flaws
Published Oct 30, 2025 · Updated Oct 30, 2025
Local privilege escalation in Nagios Log Server before 2024R1.0.2 allows local users with Apache or backend shell access to gain root. Several backend scripts improperly elevate their service-account caller, but Nagios has not disclosed the affected scripts or unsafe operation. Existing command execution as the Apache web user or backend shell user is required, after which root access grants full control of the host.
