CVE-2024-58261Public exploit

Process hang via unadvanced certificate parser input

Published Jul 27, 2025 · Updated Jul 28, 2025

Denial of service in Sequoia PGP sequoia-openpgp 1.13.0 through 1.20.0 allows local users to hang a consuming process via a crafted certificate. RawCertParser returns an error for an unsupported primary-key version without advancing its input stream, so the caller processes the same packet indefinitely. The affected interface must parse the malformed certificate; the resulting loop consumes execution time and leaves that process unresponsive.
