Incorrect authorization in SUSE Rancher Manager allows remote authenticated users with user-update rights to lock targeted accounts. The user-update path accepts changes to an established .username field without rejecting duplicates, while uniqueness is enforced during login. Exploitation requires Manage Users or equivalent update permission; colliding with an administrator username can block administrative UI access.
