Unauthorized service restart via unguarded updater
Published Oct 29, 2024 · Updated Oct 29, 2024
Improper authorization in ChuanhuChatGPT before 20240919 allows remote attackers to restart or update the service through the web UI. The updateChuanhuBtn callback invokes update_chuanhu without passing a username, and update_chuanhu starts background_update without checking authorization. Network access to the web interface is sufficient; invoking the control can alter updater-managed files and interrupt the running service.
