Cross-site scripting via unescaped non-JSON REST responses
Published Mar 28, 2025 · Updated Mar 31, 2025
Cross-site scripting in MISP before 2.4.193 allows remote attackers to run script in users' browsers via non-JSON REST responses. RestResponseComponent.php's prepareResponse() returned encoded response bodies without applying HTML escaping when the requested format was not JSON. Rendering a crafted response executes script in the viewer's MISP browser context, exposing or altering data available to that session.
