CVE-2024-58085

Local service interruption via oversized TOMOYO control line

Published Mar 6, 2025 · Updated May 12, 2026

Uncontrolled allocation in the Linux kernel TOMOYO module allows local users to interrupt service by writing an oversized control line. tomoyo_write_control() repeatedly enlarges its input buffer for a line lacking a newline, eventually requesting an excessive allocation and returning ENOMEM. Exploitation requires local low-privilege access to a writable TOMOYO policy control interface; no confidentiality or integrity impact is reported.
