CVE-2024-58073

Kernel crash via unchecked DPU plane state

Published Mar 6, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026

NULL pointer dereference in Linux 6.13 before 6.13.2 allows local users to crash the kernel by dumping an unchecked DPU plane state. The dpu_plane_atomic_print_state() callback dereferences pipe->sspp while printing pipe state even when no prior atomic_check() assigned that pointer. Exploitation requires low-privileged local access and the Qualcomm MSM display pipeline; the reported consequence is an availability-only kernel crash.
