CVE-2024-5801

Network-segmentation bypass via default IP forwarding

Published Aug 10, 2024 · Updated Aug 12, 2024

Improper isolation in B&R Automation Runtime before 6.0.2 allows remote attackers to route packets into other network segments. The runtime enables IP forwarding by default and forwards packets whose destination is not the receiving Ethernet port into another connected segment. Exploitation requires adjacent access to the system network and exposes otherwise isolated hosts by bypassing firewall, router, or NAC filtering.
