Local SMEM disclosure via incomplete bounds check

Out-of-bounds read in Linux allows local users to expose adjacent SMEM data through the soc0 serial_number sysfs file on MSM8916 devices. The socinfo size check compares the SMEM item size with the starting offset of serial_num instead of its ending offset, so an absent field is read past the structure. Exploitation requires local access on an MSM8916 device whose firmware exposes SOCINFO_VERSION(0, 8), and the disclosed value consists of data following socinfo in SMEM.
