Arbitrary file writes via absolute archive paths

Absolute path traversal in KDE Ark before 24.12.0 allows attackers to write files outside the chosen directory via a crafted archive. The libarchive plugin passes a leading-slash pathname to libarchive instead of rewriting it as Ark's relative entry name or rejecting absolute paths. A user must extract the malicious archive; the write can replace user-owned files, including shell startup or autostart configuration.
