CVE-2024-57890

Kernel service interrupt via RDMA uverbs integer overflow

Published Jan 15, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026

Integer overflow in the Linux RDMA uverbs command path allows local users to interrupt affected kernels through crafted command fields. In drivers/infiniband/core/uverbs_cmd.c, cmd.wqe_size times cmd.wr_count and a 32-bit SGE-size calculation can wrap before uverbs_request_next_ptr validates the resulting length. The precise failure mode has not been published; the path requires local low-privilege execution and access to RDMA userspace verbs, with no reported confidentiality or integrity loss.
