Kernel memory corruption via unchecked rtime input bounds

Out-of-bounds write in Linux JFFS2 allows attackers to corrupt kernel memory by accessing malformed rtime-compressed data. In jffs2_rtime_decompress(), the loop consumes value and repeat bytes without first ensuring that both remain inside the compressed input, while its existing check only bounds output growth. A privileged user or automated process must mount attacker-supplied JFFS2 content; subsequent file access can panic the kernel or support privilege escalation.
