CVE-2024-57792

Out-of-bounds read via invalid current-limit index

Published Jan 11, 2025 · Updated Aug 5, 2026

Out-of-bounds access in Linux's gpio-charger driver allows local users to read adjacent kernel memory via a current-limit write. The driver's set_charge_current_limit path uses current_limit_map_size as an array index when the requested limit is below the smallest mapped value. Reachability requires a gpio-charger device whose lowest permitted current exceeds zero and local permission to write its current-limit sysfs attribute.
