CVE-2024-57704Public exploit

Authenticated memory corruption via unchecked schedStartTime copy

Published Jan 16, 2025 · Updated Feb 3, 2025

A stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda AC8v4 firmware 16.03.34.06 allows remote authenticated users to corrupt process memory. The setSchedWifi function passes the POST-controlled schedStartTime value to strcpy without bounding it to the 25-byte destination at ptr+2. Access to the router's scheduling form is required; the published proof of concept demonstrates the overwrite trigger but not code execution.
