Unauthenticated WLAN reconfiguration via exposed setup handler
Published Jan 16, 2025 · Updated Feb 3, 2025
Incorrect authorization in D-Link DIR-816 A2 firmware 1.10CNB05_R1B011D88210 allows remote attackers to alter WLAN settings. The form2WlanBasicSetup.cgi handler accepts a configuration-changing POST request without enforcing authentication or authorization before applying supplied WLAN values. Network access to the management handler is sufficient to change the device’s 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wireless service settings.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
