CVE-2024-57658Public exploit

Database crash via unchecked geo-function arguments

Published Jan 14, 2025 · Updated Mar 24, 2025

Denial of service in OpenLink Virtuoso Open Source 7.2.11 allows attackers to crash the database server with a crafted SQL statement. The SQL optimizer reaches sql_tree_hash_1 without checking the argument count for ST_Contains(), causing a segmentation fault during compilation. The published proof uses an ISQL database session; public evidence does not establish whether an unprivileged SQL interface can reach the crash.
