Server crash via unchecked null table-source pointer
Published Jan 14, 2025 · Updated Mar 19, 2025
Denial of service in OpenLink Virtuoso Open Source 7.2.11 allows remote attackers to crash the server via crafted SQL statements. The sqlg_vec_upd function passes a null last_ts pointer to sqlg_set_ts_plh while compiling a malformed UPDATE, causing a null-pointer dereference. Network reachability to SQL processing is sufficient under CISA's assessment, and successful exploitation interrupts the database service by crashing its process.
