Service crash via crafted SQL statements
Published Jan 14, 2025 · Updated Jan 15, 2025
Improper SQL input handling in OpenLink Virtuoso Open Source 7.2.11 allows remote attackers to crash the server via crafted SQL. The qst_vec_set routine faults while processing a malformed vectorized assignment triggered by an INSERT that repeats a primary-key column and a nested-expression UPDATE, rather than rejecting the invalid statement. Reaching the flaw requires the ability to submit SQL statements; successful exploitation terminates the database process and interrupts service.
