Denial of service in OpenLink Virtuoso Open Source 7.2.11 allows attackers to crash the database via a crafted SQL statement. During query cleanup, qi_inst_state_free crashes while releasing state produced by a GROUP BY ROLLUP query containing a JSON-like expression. The published reproduction submits SQL through isql as the DBA account, so SQL execution access is required and the demonstrated consequence is a server-process crash.
