Service crash via crafted nested DELETE query
Published Jan 14, 2025 · Updated Jan 14, 2025
Denial of service in MonetDB Server 11.49.1 allows remote attackers to crash the server via a crafted nested DELETE statement. The statement drives exp_copy through dependent-subquery unnesting with nested SELECT, windowed sum, and GROUP BY constructs; the specific programming error is undisclosed. No authentication or user interaction is required, and successful exploitation terminates mserver5 and interrupts database service.
