Server crash via crafted nested SQL query
Published Jan 14, 2025 · Updated Jan 14, 2025
Denial of service in MonetDB Server 11.49.1 allows remote attackers to crash the server process via a crafted nested SQL query. During query optimization, exps_bind_column fails while resolving a column reference in the nested expression and terminates Mserver5. No user interaction is required; successful exploitation interrupts database service without reported data disclosure or modification.
