Database server crash via crafted SQL statement
Published Jan 14, 2025 · Updated Jan 14, 2025
SQL injection in MonetDB Server 11.49.1 allows remote attackers to crash the database server with a crafted SQL statement. The exps_card optimizer path processes a nested DELETE expression involving subqueries, DISTINCT, aggregation, and grouping, then terminates mserver5; the public issue does not identify the precise invalid internal operation. CISA assesses no privileges or user interaction, although the published reproduction configures database credentials; the demonstrated impact is a server-process crash only.
