Database-server crash via crafted SQL statement
Published Jan 14, 2025 · Updated Jan 14, 2025
Denial of service in MonetDB Server 11.49.1 allows remote attackers to crash the database server via a crafted SQL statement. The upstream report traces the failure to tail_type during SQL compilation but does not disclose the invalid operation that triggers termination. The query must reach the SQL engine; successful triggering exits the mserver5 process and interrupts all database service on that instance.
