CVE-2024-57582Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Router crash via unchecked startIP copy

Published Jan 16, 2025 · Updated Mar 22, 2025

Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda AC18 firmware 15.03.05.19 allows remote attackers to crash the router through a crafted startIP value. The formSetPPTPServer function copies POST parameter contents into the local v19 stack buffer without validating their length. The public proof of concept sends a password cookie and demonstrates a router crash, but the evidence does not establish whether valid credentials are required.
