Router crash via unchecked firewall setting copy
Published Jan 16, 2025 · Updated Mar 18, 2025
Stack overflow in Tenda AC18 firmware 15.03.05.19 allows remote authenticated users to crash the router through a crafted firewallEn value. formSetFirewallCfg reads firewallEn from a POST body and passes it to strcpy for a fixed-size stack buffer without checking its length. A valid management-session cookie is required by the published proof of concept; a 10,000-byte value crashes the router, while shell access is unverified.
