CVE-2024-57578Public exploit

Unauthenticated device crash via unbounded funcpara1 formatting

Published Jan 16, 2025 · Updated Jan 17, 2025

Stack overflow in Tenda AC18 firmware 15.03.05.19 allows remote attackers to crash the device via a crafted funcpara1 POST value. The formSetCfm handler passes funcpara1 to sub_4EAF0 without validation, where sprintf writes the value plus a suffix into a fixed 64-byte stack buffer without a length bound. The endpoint accepts the request without authentication; the disclosed consequence is device crash, while reliable code execution is not established.
