Router crash via unbounded speed_dir formatting
Published Jan 16, 2025 · Updated Jan 17, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda AC18 15.03.05.19 allows remote attackers to crash the router via a crafted speed_dir value. The formSetSpeedWan handler passes the POST-supplied speed_dir value directly to sprintf for a local stack buffer without validating its length. The disclosure reports no authentication requirement, while the published CVSS assessment requires low privileges and adjacent-network access.
