UDR crash via missing SUPI value assertion
Published Jan 28, 2025 · Updated Mar 25, 2025
Denial of service in Open5GS 2.7.2 allows remote attackers to crash the UDR via a malformed ueId in a Nudr API request. The ogs_dbi_auth_info function passes a missing SUPI value produced from an identifier without a hyphen to ogs_assert, terminating the UDR process instead of returning an error. An unauthenticated HTTP/2 request to the exposed UDR subscription-data endpoint is sufficient, and the demonstrated consequence is a UDR crash.
