CVE-2024-57513Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Process crash via zero tfra entry count

Published Jan 29, 2025 · Updated Jan 31, 2025

Improper input validation in Bento4 mp42hevc allows context-dependent attackers to crash the process through a crafted MP4 file. AP4_TfraAtom divides the remaining tfra atom size by the file-supplied entry_count without first rejecting a zero value. The file must be opened by mp42hevc; the demonstrated consequence is process termination, with no reported code execution or data access.
