CVE-2024-5741Network attack vector

Stored XSS via unsanitized agent inventory output

Published Jun 17, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

Stored XSS in Checkmk before 2.3.0p7, 2.2.0p28, or 2.1.0p45, and 2.0.0 allows context-dependent attackers to execute scripts. The inventory tree renders HTML embedded in a controlled agent's hardware/software inventory output without sanitizing it. Hardware/software inventory must be enabled for that host, and a user must view the tree; the script then runs in that user's browser context.
