Code execution via attacker-chosen upload filename
Published Feb 10, 2025 · Updated Feb 10, 2025
Arbitrary file upload in cool-admin-java 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute code through /comm/upload. The upload handler accepts the user-controlled key parameter as the stored filename without enforcing a safe extension, then returns a web-accessible path that executes the crafted file when requested. Administrative access to background file management is required, and successful exploitation runs attacker-supplied code in the server application context.
