Unauthorized internal-user creation via missing role validation
Published Feb 13, 2025 · Updated Mar 17, 2025
Broken access control in Wazuh SIEM 4.8.2 allows remote attackers to create internal users with nonexistent roles through its management interface. The internal-user creation workflow accepts an invalid or nonexistent role without verifying that the role exists before saving the account. The published reproduction begins with an authenticated management session, so unauthenticated reachability and privilege escalation are not demonstrated.
