CVE-2024-5731Network attack vector

Credential disclosure via attacker-controlled communication destination

Published Jun 14, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

Missing encryption in Trellix IPS Manager before 11.1.x allows remote authenticated users to disclose credentials via a crafted request. The Manager, Central Manager, and Local Manager workflow accepts a caller-controlled destination parameter and sends an encoded credential string to that destination without protecting it from decoding. Exploitation requires low privileges and user interaction; the documented consequence is credential disclosure, not data modification or service interruption.
