Stored XSS via unencoded ACB reason field
Published May 14, 2025 · Updated Jul 27, 2026
Stored XSS in Netgate pfSense Plus before 25.07 and CE before 2.8.0 allows remote attackers to run JavaScript in an administrator's browser. The services_acb.php backup list inserts the server-supplied reason field into HTML without encoding it. Exploitation requires ACB, knowledge of the device key, and an administrator to open the poisoned list; script execution can expose session data.
