Remote command execution via unsanitized devname
Published Jan 10, 2025 · Updated Jan 13, 2025
Command injection in Linksys E7350 firmware 1.1.00.032 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands through a crafted Wi-Fi reset request. The reset_wifi function in /usr/lib/lua/luci/controller/mtkwifi.lua treats the devname URL-path segment as command input without neutralizing shell delimiters. A semicolon-delimited payload in the router's LuCI administration path runs commands with the web service's privileges; the published request includes a session cookie, while CISA assesses that no privileges are required.
