Arbitrary command execution via unsanitized device name
Published Jan 10, 2025 · Updated Jan 14, 2025
Command injection in TOTOLINK A6000R firmware 1.0.1-B20201211.2000 allows remote attackers to execute commands through devname. The reset_wifi function in /usr/lib/lua/luci/controller/mtkwifi.lua passes the URL-derived device name into command processing without neutralizing shell metacharacters. A crafted request to the administrative Wi-Fi reset route requires interaction with an authenticated browser session and executes commands on the router.
