Cross-organization privilege escalation via unchecked project IDs
Published Jun 27, 2024 · Updated Oct 15, 2025
Incorrect authorization in Lunary 1.2.4 allows remote authenticated users to change project memberships across organizations. The invitation and user-modification API endpoints accept attacker-supplied project IDs without checking that the projects belong to the current organization, while an org_id versus orgId mismatch defeats user-organization validation. Team-management permission is required; successful requests can invite or move users across organizations and assign elevated project privileges.
