Stored script execution via unescaped channel name
Published Feb 3, 2025 · Updated Feb 3, 2025
Stored cross-site scripting in ClassCMS 4.8 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in another administrator's browser. The addPost handler in class/admin/channel.php passes channelname to the cms/channel.php add function, which stores quote characters without HTML entity encoding. Administrative access and a victim viewing the saved channel are required; the script can act within that victim's web session.
