Service interruption via unsafe prototype-key merging
Published Feb 5, 2025 · Updated Mar 18, 2025
Prototype pollution in @zag-js/core before 0.82.2 allows remote attackers to interrupt service through crafted merge input. The lib.deepMerge function recursively copied inherited properties and constructor, prototype, or proto keys into destination objects without filtering them. Exploitation requires a consuming application to pass attacker-controlled objects into the library; the resulting prototype-chain changes can disrupt that application.
