Denial of service via prototype pollution
Published Feb 5, 2025 · Updated Feb 6, 2025
Prototype pollution in php-parser 3.2.1 allows attackers to interrupt applications through a crafted object passed to lib.combine. The function accepts an object containing a proto property and writes attacker-controlled properties into the global Object.prototype instead of rejecting the prototype key. Reachability requires consuming code to pass attacker-controlled objects to the function, after which the polluted prototype can interrupt the hosting application.
