Authenticated command execution via unsanitized query string
Published Jan 21, 2025 · Updated Feb 4, 2025
Command injection in TOTOLINK A810R 4.1.2cu.5032_B20200407 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands via HTTP. The downloadFile.cgi main function places the query string into a command buffer passed to system(), allowing shell delimiters and IFS expansion to introduce attacker-controlled commands. A low-privileged web session is required; successful exploitation can read or alter router data, while the published assessment reports no service interruption.
