Authenticated command execution via unsanitized VPN password
Published Jan 15, 2025 · Updated Mar 13, 2025
OS command injection in TOTOLINK X5000R firmware 9.1.0cu.2350_B20230313 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands. The setVpnAccountCfg handler in /web/cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi incorporates the pass parameter into an operating-system command without neutralizing shell metacharacters. Access to the router's management interface with low privileges is required, and injected commands execute on the device without user interaction.
