Stored XSS via trusted RSS summaries
Published Jun 26, 2025 · Updated Jun 26, 2025
Stored XSS in NetBox Community 4.1.7 through 4.2.1 allows remote attackers to execute script via a crafted RSS feed summary. The rssfeed.html template applies Django's safe filter to feed-controlled entry.summary content, suppressing output escaping before rendering. Exploitation requires a user to load a dashboard configured with an attacker-controlled feed, exposing that user's browser session to script execution.
