Sandbox bypass via XFO error-page clickjacking
Published Jun 11, 2024 · Updated Mar 19, 2025
Clickjacking in Mozilla Firefox before 127, Firefox ESR before 115.12, and Thunderbird before 115.12 allows remote attackers to open a window. An X-Frame-Options-blocked document renders the browser's native error page inside a sandboxed iframe, where its Open Site in New Window button remains actionable. Exploitation requires a user to click the disguised button; Thunderbird normally disables scripting while reading email, limiting exposure to browser-like contexts.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
