Administrator account creation via forged GET request
Published Feb 3, 2025 · Updated Mar 4, 2025
CSRF in GeoVision GV-ASWeb 6.1.1.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to create administrator accounts through a crafted GET request. The Account Management handler at /ASWeb/bin/ASWebCommon.srf accepts the UA_SetCreateAccount action and privilege level from a state-changing GET request without validating request intent. Exploitation requires network access and an administrator with an active browser session to load attacker-controlled content; success grants a new administrator account.
