Unauthenticated device control via unrestricted HTTP endpoints
Published Feb 24, 2025 · Updated Mar 3, 2025
Improper access control in YI Car Dashcam firmware 3.88 allows remote attackers to access files and execute device API commands. Its HTTP server accepts direct download, upload, and settings API requests without further authentication after a client joins the camera's Wi-Fi network. Access requires joining the camera network, whose default or weak credentials expose recordings and permit disabling recording or sounds or initiating a factory reset.
