Root code execution via unvalidated SCEP fields
Published Dec 9, 2025 · Updated Jan 13, 2026
Injection in Siemens RUGGEDCOM ROX before 2.17.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code as root via SCEP. The certificate-enrollment client fails to validate multiple SCEP fields before passing their contents to a downstream component. High-privilege access to the network-reachable workflow is required; successful exploitation grants full appliance control.
