CVE-2024-56802Network attack vector

Registry write access via partial DeployKey matches

Published Dec 31, 2024 · Updated Dec 31, 2024

Authorization bypass in PacoVK Tapir 0.9.0 through 0.9.1 allows remote attackers to gain registry write access with a guessed DeployKey. The getDeployKeyByValue methods for DynamoDB, Cosmos DB, and Elasticsearch accept the first search result without checking that its key exactly equals the supplied value. A guessed substring matched to a scoped DeployKey is therefore accepted as that key, granting its configured write scope.
