CVE-2024-5680

Local service interruption via unchecked IOCTL array index

Published Jul 11, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

Improper array-index validation in Foxboro.sys in EcoStruxure Foxboro DCS Core Control Services 9.8 and earlier allows local users to disrupt service. The driver accepts an attacker-controlled array index from an IOCTL request without ensuring that it addresses a valid array element. Low-privileged local access and a crafted script or program are required; successful exploitation interrupts system functionality and is not remotely reachable.
